Reflect The film analysis artifact was done on two films that I watched, which were “Mr. Holland’s Opus” and “Akeelah and the Bee”. Each film showed how educational issues interfered with the student learning. My artifact is part of my film analysis that I did on each film, which included writing an important poem about the educational issue in each movie. The important poems from the movie “Akeelah and the Bee” talks about the impact of not having enough funds in minority schools effect the student’s inability to receive the proper education and equal education as other schools. Living in a community where you are surrounded with homeless people, gangs, and schools with insufficient funds all influence in how a child learns. The other artifact is a response paper I did on an article that talked about how teachers should speak with parents when concerns come up. This article allowed me to learn about different ways of consulting issues and concerns with student’s parents that might be interfering on the student’s education and well being in a professional and respectful way in order to come together and form a solution that will be best for the student.
